Senior Catchment Assets Engineer


This position is responsible for providing quality Asset Management and Advisory Services relating to stormwater drainage assets and flood control structures.

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our positive and dedicated Civil Infrastructure – Catchment Management Team.

 

Your main responsibilities will be to provide professional and specialist technical advice and guidance on engineering matters to the organization and external customers to achieve positive outcomes relating to Council’s stormwater drainage infrastructure.

 

On a day-to-day basis, you will be expected to assist the Supervisor of Catchment Management to manage Council’s:

 

  • Drainage assets in accordance with industry accepted practice (NAMS Australia).
  • Prescribed Dam Structures in accordance with Dam Safety Committee Requirements.
  • Catchment Management Team and/or consultants/contractors in the field or office.
  • Drainage Construction, Flood Mitigation and Additional Drainage Programs and review conceptual civil designs, cost estimates, flood studies and mapping, sub-catchment management plans, full detailed designs, preparation of civil design briefs, preparation of contract documentation, specifications for construction, review of environmental factors (REFs).
  • Current and historical information and update Council’s Asset Management System to ensure that consistent and prompt advice is provided in order to protect Council’s interest.To achieve this, you will be working alone at times and with a dedicated team. Your work will enable Council to meet its obligations in the areas of asset management, floodplain risk management and Dam Safety Committee requirements.

This position is a Grade 13 with a Salary Range:
$104,999 to $115,585 + Super dependent on skills, knowledge and experience.
